Detective Tom Harris was known for his fastidious approach to his job. So when the department received a call about a gruesome murder, he was the first to respond. Upon arriving at the scene, he was horrified to find his victim—a young woman—hacked to death.

The investigation quickly led Harris to his boss, Ronald Simmons, the station's superintendent. Simmons wastile and brutal, and Harris was sure that he was the killer. He followed Simmons everywhere, watching his every move, but to his frustration, the superintendent always seemed one step ahead.

Just as Harris was about to give up, he received a lead in the form of a damning email. The email was sent by Simmons himself, and it detailed how he had killed the young woman. With this information in hand, Harris finally put an end to Simmons's reign of terror.
